Info
As a Project Architect, I led design development and detailing (up to 1:1 scale) for architectural and spatial systems across hospitality, residential, institutional, and commercial projects. Translated user experience, cultural context, and material strategy into buildable design solutions aligned with client, technical, and budget constraints. Coordinated cross-functional teams including engineers, consultants, craftsmen, and government stakeholders to ensure alignment between design intent and execution. Directed on-site construction, ensuring quality, material accuracy, and adherence to design specifications while optimizing workflows with engineering teams. Contributed to material innovation through prototyping with local and natural materials, integrating sustainable fabrication techniques into projects.

DESCRIPTION
Venkat Farmhouse is a hospitality project located on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The design intent was to create a contemporary built environment with a subtle vernacular sensibility, blending modern spatial planning with regional material expression.
The project comprised multiple programmatic blocks, including a dining pavilion, cottage units, a laundry facility, and a security cabin. Each structure was designed as part of a cohesive campus while maintaining functional independence.
A key aspect of the project was its commitment to sustainable construction. Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB) were manufactured on-site and used as the primary building material, reducing transportation impact and reinforcing the project’s ecological approach. Glue laminated wood, mud and lime plaster, repurposed wooden columns, clay tiles were also incorporated.
